This afternoon they created a game called

Train Inventory

Here’s how to play.

  1. Take inventory of every train piece and block by SORTING, MATCHING, and GROUPING them into various piles.A fresh way to Play Trains. Practice sorting, grouping, counting, and organizing in this fun game which also builds teamwork. | The House of Hendrix
  2. COUNT and WRITE down how many of each piece there are. (I created a printable for this below).  A fresh way to Play Trains. Practice sorting, grouping, counting, and organizing in this fun game which also builds teamwork.
  3. One person begins building a train track while the other manages the inventory. “I need a short curved piece, please.” TEAMWORK A fresh way to Play Trains. Practice sorting, grouping, counting, and organizing in this fun game which also builds teamwork. | The House of Hendrix
  4. They created a master plan for the track based on how many of each pieces remained. (MATH, PROBLEM SOLVING)

I was delighted as they explained the rules of Train Inventory to me. If you have a train lover or child who simply loves to organize, feel free to download the printable below.Train Inventory Printable
